A cool shorter back country ski tour for when there is a good amount of snow down at lower elevations. We skied this on the 19th August and remarkable had good dry powder skiing right to the road. Only the tops were a little wind scoured and icy. Heres a few pics and a topo for any one wanting to try this one.
The time from the Crown Range Road to the summit of Crown Peak was about 2 hours at my slowish pace. The ski down was about half an hour. Hitching back to the pass was easy, we were picked up by the 3rd and 4th cars. Enjoy!
